About ME

I remember sitting still, a bright light shining on my face, while my teacher traced my shadow with chalk against black construction paper.  I think many of us have a similar memory and perhaps some of those mementos from grade school are still around or maybe others are faded and forgotten.

Helping my father move from my childhood home, I found that old silhouette in a basement box, paper greyed with age. I wondered if it was made with better quality paper or colorful paint how it might have held up.  Would it still be hanging somewhere, my 5 year-old self, reflecting back at me decades later?

When my own children were small I tried my creative hand at reimagining this classic art form and the resulting colorful silhouettes slowly captured the interest of friends and family. Soon I was getting requests and from there I started marketing at local art fairs.

Creating these silhouettes gives me a chance to connect with young families, children and create something unique and hopefully meaningful.  I feel lucky to be part of making a moment in time become a cherished keepsake.
